Progress Theatre, Reading, Berkshire, England is a self-governing, self-funding theatre group. It operates in the voluntary sector, is a registered Charity and maintains its own 95-seat theatre.

We produce a programme of varied, interesting and challenging drama to the highest standard. Each year sees around nine productions, running between six and nine nights.

We have an active policy to educate, encourage and enliven in all aspects of theatre. Progress has a thriving youth theatre comprising Three Youth Groups and two Student Groups; a Writers’ Group; the Friends of Progress and the Members themselves.

All auditions for our public productions are open to non-members. Various internal events, such as "Writefest" provide opportunities for newer or less experienced actors, directors and writers.
